From the first design sit-down to the final walkthrough — here's what we actually do on a custom millwork & finishes, so there are no surprises and no gaps between the people who plan it and the people who build it.

Sit-down planning & finish selection
We design the custom millwork to fit the space and pick the wood species, the finish, and the hardware — the details that make the difference between custom millwork and catalog.

On-site walkthroughs to measure
We measure the wall, the openings, and the existing trim down to the quarter inch so the built-ins fit the wall exactly — no gaps, no shims, no fudging.

Shop fabrication
We build the cabinets, panels, and trim in the shop to the field measurements — the millwork pieces exist before they're installed, so we can finish them right.

Site prep & demolition
We clear the wall, remove the old trim or cabinets, and prep the surface so the new custom millwork sits flush and clean.

Framing & blocking for heavy pieces
For heavy built-ins or panel walls we install the framing and blocking behind the drywall so the millwork anchors to something solid.

MEPS — lighting & outlets
We run the picture lighting, under-cabinet lights, and the outlets the built-ins hide — all before the pieces go in.

Drywall & trim prep
We patch the drywall around the new pieces and prep the walls for paint so the trim sits clean.

Install & fit
We install the cabinets, paneling, and trim, scribe them to the wall, and fit every joint so the millwork reads as part of the architecture, not furniture.

Finish, paint & hardware
We paint or finish the custom millwork, install the hardware, and do the final touch-ups — then a walkthrough of details that make the house feel custom.
